Miller Introduces New Millermatic® DVI All-in-One MIG Welder Featuring Exclusive Multi-Voltage Input Power Cord

Co introduced the new Millermatic® DVI (Dual Voltage Input) all-in-one MIG welding power source, offering the ability to connect to both 115 and 230 V power receptacles. In addition, Miller's exclusive MVP(TM) (Multi-Voltage Plug) power cord adapters offer ease-of-use by eliminating the need for additional tools to change jumper links. The Millermatic DVI has a 30 to 175 amp operating range. It offers an output of 90 amps at 20 percent duty cycle while operating on 115 volts (the same as the Millermatic® 135) and an output of 150 amps at 40 percent duty cycle while operating on 230 volts (the Millermatic® 175 provides 130 amps at 30 percent duty cycle). The 115 VAC input offers welding capabilities of 22 gauge materials up to 3/16-in thick, while the 230 VAC input provides the ability to weld materials that are 22 gauge up to 3/8-in. thick. "The Millermatic DVI enables location versatility and maneuverability, while offering improved arc performance over the Millermatic 135 and 175," states Chris Roehl, product manager, Miller Electric. Location Flexibility Weighing 168 lbs. with running gear as a standard feature, the Millermatic DVI offers increased maneuverability, making it easy to move to different locations. "A facility may have both 115 volt and 230 volt power receptacles, but when they need to weld, operators often find that the 230 receptacles are unusable because they are blocked," says Roehl. "With the Millermatic DVI, this situation will never be a problem because it can be brought over to one of the shop's 115 volt receptacles and welding can be completed." In addition, most home garages only come equipped with 115 volt power receptacles. However, as beginning welders become more experienced, they may want to outfit their garage with 230 volt power receptacles to weld thicker materials. This situation presents a problem if the user has a power source that has only a 115 volt input, requiring the purchase of a whole new power source. When changing voltage, additional tools are usually necessary, but not with MVP power cord adapters.
