Microtune Silicon Tuners Advance Digital TV Across Portable and Mobile Platforms

Technology showcased in Multiple Customers'Pavilions at CeBit 2006

PLANO, Texas--March 9, 2006--Microtune's high-performance, low-power digital TV tuners will be featured in the innovative products and prototypes of multiple manufacturers that will be unveiling their latest wares at CeBit, the Company announced today. Advanced consumer products, with MicroTuner(TM) silicon tuner technology at the core, will showcase digital TV across an increasingly varied range of portable platforms and small form factors.

Inventor of the single-chip silicon TV tuner, Microtune®, Inc. (Nasdaq:TUNE) is leading the market in broadband silicon TV tuner chips with products deployed today in digital/analog TVs, mobile phones, personal video recorder (PVR) set-top boxes, cable modems, digital telephony modems, computers, portable DVD players, multimedia cards and PC-TV adaptors.

With the theme of 'Digital Solutions for Work and Life', CeBit is billed as the world's leading trade show for solutions, products and services from all areas of IT and telecommunications. Held March 9th-15th, 2006 in Hannover, Germany, this year's trade show provides a stage for customers to highlight products that are driving the revolution in portable entertainment and mobile media.

At the show, Microtune's tuners will enable high-quality digital TV in products and reference designs that span multiple interfaces (USB, PCI, PCI Express), multiple standards (DVB-T, DVB-H, ATSC) and multiple configurations (single- and dual-tuner architectures).

Reflecting emerging industry trends, Microtune tuners will be integrated into devices that enable diversity--the ability to improve TV reception using two antennas--a dual-tuner solution ideal for delivering the best quality signal reception for portable devices. Micronas, for example, will showcase its MicPython 2H-X, a dual-tuner DVB-T PCI Express (PCIe) card for home theater solutions.

Microtune technology will also be deployed in dongles and add-in cards that enable DVB-H mobile broadcast, products that simplify a user's ability to add digital TV to notebook PCs. AVerMedia Technology Inc., for example, will show its new AVerTV DVB-H Express Card, a product also displayed this week at the Intel Developer Forum.

During the exhibition, other digital TV products, prototypes or reference designs, featuring Microtune's tuners, are also expected to be displayed by AverMedia, DiBcom, Micronas GmbH, Pinnacle Systems, Inc., TerraTec® Electronic GmbH, and leading Taiwanese original design manufacturers, including Yuan Technology Co., Ltd. and WideView Technology, Inc., among others.

Microtune's tuners, including the MT2060, MT2260, MT2262, MT2121 and the recently announced, MT2131, reflect a broad product portfolio that enables superior digital TV pictures and sound across the price/performance, application and low-power spectrum.
