Microtek® Introduces Brilliant, 2000 Lumens CX6 DLP(TM) Projector

Exceptional Brightness and XGA Resolution for Presentation and Video Applications

CARSON, Calif., Dec. 6 / -- Microtek, a world-leading manufacturer of digital imaging products, has announced that it is shipping its CX6 XGA DLP(TM) Projector in the United States through its North American subsidiary, Microtek Lab, Inc. The brilliant, 2,000 ANSI lumens brightness of the CX6 satisfies the most rigorous presentation needs of business professionals, and meets the stringent display demands of video enthusiasts.

"At 7.8 lbs., the CX6 is portable enough to go anywhere -- yet its high 2,000 lumens output places this DLP projector in a category that attracts the most discriminating video enthusiasts," said Tommy Shih, product manager at Microtek. "The portability, high-end imaging and sub $1,000 price tag make the CX6 one of the most versatile and affordable DLP projectors in its class."

The 2,000 lumens brightness provides crisp, clear imaging for presentations, even in less-than-optimal lighting conditions. The CX6's high 2000:1 contrast ratio ensures that both computer and video are rendered in exceptional detail, color and clarity.

Connections on the CX6 are clearly marked, adhering to the industry's "plug and project" standard for easy set-up. Inputs for video or graphics include DVI for direct digital connection, a DVI to VGA adapter for auto- sensing analog PC connection, component video, S-video and composite video inputs. Add to these automatic de-interlacing and built-in 2:3 film detection, the CX6 produces smooth, great-looking video. A video monitor loop-through output is provided for multiple display applications. The projector's built-in audio is supported via composite RCA and a stereo mini jack. An RS-232 jack is provided for service and factory firmware updates.

The Microtek CX6 incorporates the latest DLP(TM) digital processing technology from Texas Instruments. DLP technology uses an optical semiconductor to manipulate light digitally. DLP technology is the only solution that can create a direct digital connection between the graphic or video source and the display that eliminates D/A and A/D conversions -- thus optimizing image fidelity.

The CX6 measures a compact 12.9"x 3.5"x 9.4" (WxHxD), and includes a remote control that incorporates a laser pointer. The remote also offers access to PC or mouse capabilities from anywhere in the room via USB connection. The CX6 projector also comes with Kensington's MicroSaver® Security System, and a convenient customizable Power Save option that allows users to automatically extend the usable lamp life. The CX6 can be installed in a variety of ways, including traditional tabletop, rear-projection and ceiling-mount. Digital keystone correction of up to +/- 15 percent remedies distortion caused by less-than-ideal projection angles and maintains correct aspect ratio for consistent video quality.

The CX6 is now available at Microtek's online store (www.Store.Microtek.com) and priced at $999.00. It comes with a free carrying case and a one-year product/90-day lamp warranty.
