Upgraded Ultra-Miniature Microstepping Driver Packed with even More Features
The upgraded IM481H PLUS microstepping driver from Intelligent Motion Systems (p/n XIM481H) includes the advanced technology of a patented new motion control chip adding active anti-resonance, ultra smooth low speed motion, and precise current control to perform the most demanding motion control applications and drive stepping motors up to NEMA size 23, all in a package that measures a mere 1.1 x 2.7 x 0.175" (28 x 69 x 4.4 mm).
The IM481H PLUS is packed full of features including short circuit and thermal protection, adjustable automatic current reduction, at full step and fault outputs. Accepting an input voltage of +12 to +48 volts, this ultra-miniature 2.1 amp peak driver incorporates advanced ASIC technology that reduces motor heating and allows low inductance stepper motors to be used to increase high-speed performance and efficiency.
The improved XIM481H has 16 built-in microstep resolutions, 2 more than its predecessor the IM481H, ranging from full step to 51,200 steps/revolution (1.8° motor) in binary and decimal that can be changed at any time without the need to reset the driver. Integrating the IM481H PLUS in applications that use higher step angle motors will allow the user to replace mechanical gearing for increased smoothness and more accurate positioning. This feature will also enable the user to move long distances at higher speeds, yet precisely position the motor at the end of travel while reducing controller overhead.
