Aven Mighty Scope Versatility Expands with Flex Stand for Any-Angle Viewing

ANN ARBOR, MI - The palm-size convenience of Mighty Scope magnification and image capture gains added value with a new Flex Stand from Aven, Inc.

Users now can inspect samples hands-free from any direction and varied heights.

This accessory allows note-taking and extended viewing from a fixed position, as well as serial observation of the same field of view by trainees or team colleagues.

The Digital Mighty Scope is a compact microscope for industrial quality control and inspection, as well as R&D applications.

"The Flex Stand is a response to customer requests for a way to stabilize the scope more flexibly than with our vertical Boom Stand ," says Mike Shahpurwala, president and chief marketing officer or Aven, a global supplier of optical instruments.

A gooseneck tube sheathed in metal adjusts easily to any position and stays rigid while tightly clamping the scope with vibration-free precision. The clamp head rotates for maximum versatility.

Diagonal or cross-section side viewing becomes a snap with the Flex Stand. Once it's in place, operators can use a Microtouch shutter button and then annotate images on a laptop, compile notes or take a break without losing the defined view.

The holder is useful for classroom or training observations by a number of people, as well as by work team members.

Though it's readily portable, the Mighty Scope is a sophisticated professional tool with a magnification range of 10 to 200 times and a USB interface. Six white LEDs are adjustable via a brightness wheel to suit varied indoor or exterior environments.

Images, interval shots or video are captured by a 1.3-megapixel camera with a color CMOS sensor. Microsoft-compatible software includes a measuring tool, annotation functions and image editing.

"The Digital Mighty Scope puts powerful microscopy and imaging into users' hands -- or
the no-hands Flex Stand," says Shahpurwala.
