Uniform Micron-Sized Silica Spheres



Fiber Optic Center, Inc. announces the exclusive availability of the AngstromSphere(TM) line of uniform micron-sized silica spheres. These perfectly spherical amorphous silica spheres maintain a particle size distribution of <10% and purity of >99.9%, and are available as standard items in the size range from 0.05 um to 2 um. The spheres are supplied in dry form with no surface modification, or in dispersions of water or alcohols or other materials. Custom sizes and/or surface modifications can be synthesized on request.

Applications include filler for high performance polymeric systems, anti-slip agents for plastic film production, nanocomposite filler, ceramic and glass forming, biomedical, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), particle size standards, LCD spacers, light diffusers, dental composites, inorganic diffractive pigments, chromatography, photonic crystals and synthetic opals, research and development.
