Celera Motion Offers New Veratus Precision Encoder
In a major new advancement in its encoder offering, Celera Motion is introducing the new MicroE Veratus™ Series Encoders into its Compact encoder range. Built using the company’s new VeraPath™ technology, Veratus delivers the reliability, signal stability, and dirt immunity required in precision industrial applications in the smallest package size in its class.
All interpolation, automatic gain control (AGC), and signal processing is performed in the sensor head that is only 35 x 13.5 x 10 mm. Interpolation in the sensor head provides resolution from 5μm to 20nm for linear applications, with speeds up to 5m/s.
Veratus features multiple mounting configurations, industry standard analog and digital incremental encoder outputs, built-in limits, flexible index selection, and status LED in the sensor head. Complete with automatic calibration, Veratus has a true plug-and-go setup.
No additional PCBs, adapters, or dongles are necessary for the full functionality and resolution of the sensors. Veratus sensors can be universally applied with MicroE’s linear glass scales (to +/-1 μm/m accuracy), linear metal tape scales (to +/-3 μm/m), and rotary scales (to +/-2 arc-seconds). The interfaces options are A-quad-B or 1Vpp sin/cos.
VeraPath technology is engineered with advanced optical filtering and state-of-the-art signal processing and electronics, ensuring reliable performance in a wide range of operating conditions where the encoder is exposed to a degree of contamination. VeraPath technology is designed to filter out signal disturbances caused by scratches on gratings and by typical variations of metal scale flatness, which allows our customers to achieve high levels of accuracy with both metal scales and glass gratings.
