The printer's unique design also helps reduce maintenance costs

Lewis Center, Ohio-Microcom Corporation, a leading maker of specialty-use thermal printers, introduces the new Model 428M designed specifically for kiosk applications. The 428M thermal kiosk printer offers a small footprint and affordable price without compromising on performance.

It is the only 300 dpi heavy-duty use kiosk printer that can output on all types of media including tickets, wristbands and customer loyalty cards up to 11 mils thick and at a jaw-dropping eight inches per second. The adjustable paper guides make loading it a cinch and the field replaceable wear parts and reliable rotary cutter make it easy to own and inexpensive to maintain. Other features include a rigid steel construction; USB connectivity; and movable sensors that detect gaps, holes, notches and black lines for perfect registration every time.

"Since we designed the 428M to print on virtually any thermal stock, it takes the engineering challenges and costs out of integrating the printer in all types of kiosks," said Jim Larson, president and CEO of Microcom Corporation. "And best of all, our printers far exceed the industry's average for mean time between failures, promising the users years of reliability."

The Model 428M printer meets CUL, CE and FCC Class A requirements and complies with European RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous substances) standards. To learn more about the printer or to place an order, please visit www.microcomcorp.com/428m.htm.
