Micro-Miniature Valves suit automated liquid handling equipment.
Press Release Summary:
Inert solenoid operated isolation valves are 3/8 in. in diameter, allowing up to 4 manifold mounted valves to fit in 1 1/4 in. square space. Two-way, normally closed valves come in 3 body designs. Two incorporate rectangular body with 1/4-28 flat bottom ports on bottom or side. Manifold version has screw-in collar for easy assembly and exchange. Valves are constructed of PEEK or PPS with Teflon wetted materials.

Lightweight, Space-Saving Micro-Miniature Valve Creates A Distinct Marketing Advantage For Automated Liquid Handling Equipment
Boonton, NJ: Designers of analytical and medical instrumentation
challenged by smaller sample sizes and the ongoing need for portable, compact automated liquid handling equipment can now look to Bio-Chem Valve for a new, smaller 3/8" diameter, micro-miniature, inert solenoid operated isolation valve. This new compact, lightweight design reduces the footprint typically required by standard isolation valves. Up to 4 manifold mounted valves can fit in a 1-1/4" square space.
The lighter 12 to 18 gm weight facilitates use on robotic arms in sample handlers. The valves also feature dual pin electrical connections, low power consumption, low internal volume, and a high cycle life. Applications for the valves include portable liquid handling equipment, repetitive sampling equipment and instruments requiring multiple flow path control within a smaller area.
This 2-way normally closed micro-miniature isolation valve comes in 3 body designs. Two versions incorporate a rectangular body with 1/4 -28 flat bottom ports on the bottom or on the side. The manifold version has a screw-in collar for easy assembly and exchange. This design can be combined with an existing manifold or Bio-Chem Valve can custom design an efficient pre-assembled, space-saving module to meet specific flow schematics and eliminate "spaghetti" tubing and fittings.
The valve is constructed of PEEK or PPS with Teflon wetted materials. Alternative materials and customized modifications are available.
