Metal-Filled Epoxies Allow Fast, Durable Repairs to Industrial Machinery

DANVERS, MA - Metal-filled epoxies from Devcon are designed for use in a wide array of industrial maintenance, repair, production, and tooling applications. Easily applied by plant personnel without special training, they cure at room temperature and provide excellent resistance to a broad range of chemicals and temperatures.

Plastic Steel® Putty (A) bonds to most metals, concrete, and some plastics. It provides excellent resistance to oil, gasoline, water, and chemicals at service temperatures up to 250° F. It forms tough, durable repairs that can be drilled, tapped, machined, or painted and is ideal for patching and repairing areas where welding or brazing would be impractical or impossible.

For dependable emergency repairs, Plastic Steel 5-Minute® Putty (SF) cures fully to a tough, steel-filled material in less than 1 hour. Easily mixed and applied, it cures at temperatures as low as 40° F.

Plastic Steel Liquid (B) is a steel-filled liquid epoxy for making holding fixtures, light-gauge forming dies, and molds. It hardens in about an hour at room temperature. With high compressive strength, Plastic Steel Liquid can be machined to close tolerances. Its low viscosity makes it an ideal leveling compound for machinery and equipment.

Other Devcon advanced epoxy formulations contain selected metals for specialized repairs. Stainless Steel Putty (ST) is designed for patching, repairing, or rebuilding stainless steel food-processing equipment but also bonds to nonferrous metals. It is certified by the NSF for potable water applications and is acceptable for use in meat and poultry plants. Aluminum-filled HVAC Repair Putty (Special F) bonds to metals, ceramics, wood, concrete, or glass and can be used to make nonrusting repairs to copper compressor coils and aluminum castings. Aluminum Putty (F) is ideal for repairs to aluminum castings and machinery in addition to HVAC applications. Aluminum Liquid (F-2) is an aluminum-filled, pourable epoxy for making molds, patterns, and holding fixtures. Bronze Putty (BR) is a bronze-filled epoxy for repairing bronze or brass bushings, shafts, castings, and other equipment parts. Permanent repairs made with Titanium Putty can be precision-machined and are temperature-resistant up to 350° F.
