This new metal cutting saw touts a powerful 13 AMP motor to cut through a variety of metal including sheet metal, steel studs, pipes, and rebar. A large cutting capacity allows for single-pass cutting that is virtually spark-free with a no load speed of 3,500 RPM. The "tool-less" heavy duty blade cover provides superior chip collection and insulates against high temperatures for increased efficiency. Additional convenience features include a quick-release blade guard lever for plunge cutting and a stainless steel base plate for increased stability and durability.
The 4131 comes equipped with an exclusive Makita Blue Steel(TM) CERMET tipped saw blade that lasts 25 times longer and costs 3 times less than traditional abrasive blades. Blue Steel blades also cut 5 times faster than abrasive blades for increased productivity, as well as cleaner cutting with burr-free ends. CERMET tipped blades are manufactured with an innovative ceramic-metal mixture that resists damaging heat, known to shorten the life of traditional carbide-tipped blades.
