Metal Cored Wires suit high-tensile strength applications.

Press Release Summary:

Gas-shielded Tri-Mark® Metalloy® 90/100/110 filler metals give welders options when welding steels such as A514, A517, HY-80, and A710 ranging from 80-110 ksi. Formulated for use with Argon/CO2 shielding gas mixture, wires offer Charpy V-Notch (CVN) impact values from 39-45 lb-ft at temperatures as low as -60°F, produce no slag, and can bridge part gaps without burn-through. They suit single- or multi-pass applications and come in .045 and 1/16 in. diameters.

Hobart Brothers Offers Family of Metal Cored Wires for High Tensile Strength Applications

-Tri-Mark brand Metalloy 90, Metalloy 100 and Metalloy 110 -Excellent impact values at low temperatures -High tensile strength with all the benefits of a metal cored wire

TROY, Ohio. September 6, 2006-As part of its premier Tri-Mark® brand of filler metals, Hobart Brothers adds high strength filler metal options to its extensive Metalloy® family of gas-shielded metal cored wires: Metalloy 90, Metalloy 100 and Metalloy 110. Designed to give welders comprehensive metal cored wire options when welding high tensile strength steels such as A514, A517, HY-80, and A710 (ranging from 80- to 110-ksi), these wires are ideal for welding castings, heavy equipment, ships, pressure vessels, and offshore oil rigs and platforms.

Formulated for use with an Argon/CO2 shielding gas mixture, the Metalloy 90, 100 and 110 wires offer excellent Charpy V-Notch (CVN) impact values at temperatures as low as -60 degrees Fahrenheit (Metalloy 90: 41 ft-lbs.; Metalloy 100: 45 ft-lbs.; Metalloy 110: 39 ft-lbs.). Each type of wire is suitable for single- or multi-pass applications and is available in .045-in. and 1/16-in. diameters.

Metalloy Wires Increase Productivity on High Tensile Strength Steels The Metalloy 90, 100 and 110 metal cored wires offer superior bead appearance with minimal spatter and excellent wetting action, along with the ability to bridge part gaps without burn-through. The wires produce no slag to increase productivity in multi-pass applications by eliminating cleaning between passes, and also offer excellent sidewall and root penetration.
