Rockwell Automation Expands Communication Options for Allen-Bradley® InView(TM) Message Displays

Modules allow users to cost-effectively integrate InView(TM) displays into new or existing networks

MILWAUKEE, May 8, 2003-Rockwell Automation has expanded the communication options for its Allen-Bradley® InView(TM) message displays with six communication modules that quickly and easily integrate InView displays into existing networks without the cost of adding a new network. InView users can now connect to Data Highway Plus(TM), DH-485(TM), Remote I/O, DeviceNet(TM), ControlNet(TM) and Ethernet/IP industrial networks.

"Users can now leverage six of the industry's most popular open networks, for more cost-efficient information exchange across the plant floor," said Paul Whitney, product marketing, Rockwell Automation. "Connecting InView message displays into new or existing plant networks maximizes networking capabilities and more efficiently manages communication resources."

With these expanded network options, OEMs and end users can easily implement InView displays into older production lines to increase productivity and deliver broad-scale communications throughout a plant. End users who want to standardize their operator interface displays across multiple networks can now add InViews without the cost of upgrading their communication networks at the same time.

"InView communication modules use the PanelView(TM) technology that our customers have relied on for years," said Whitney. "They have the same communications - along with the connectivity to all Allen-Bradley controllers - as a PanelView. Additionally, the new InView communication modules power off the InView display, so only the network needs to be connected to the module. It's these features that make InView communication modules a quick and dependable means of integrating displays into your industrial network."

The new communication modules are available in a DIN rail-mounted solution for the Panel Mount P22R InView, a back-mounted module for the P4x displays and an internally-mounted module for the P7x displays. All communication modules are designed and certified to meet or exceed the certifications of the InView displays.
