Life Sciences Companies Improve Productivity and Reduce Time-to-Market with New Version of Propack Data PMX MES Software

MILWAUKEE, April 26, 2005 - To help life sciences companies more accurately document and access production data to improve their productivity, speed time-to-market and reduce production expenses, Rockwell Automation has enhanced its leading enterprise production management software, (MES).

The newest version of PMX MES, due out in August 2005, makes it easier for life sciences companies to integrate automation information - from raw material receiving to manufacturing and packaging. It also helps companies enhance their regulatory compliance initiatives by accurately tracking and recording their manufacturing processes.

"Using Propack Data PMX MES, life sciences companies can access key manufacturing information on demand to help optimize production processes and make their manufacturing capabilities a competitive advantage," said Robert Honor, life sciences vice president, Rockwell Automation. "As a result, these companies can better adjust to rapid market changes, meet customer demands and improve their profit margins."

To help pharmaceutical companies coordinate their materials and equipment logistics with order fulfillment, PMX MES simplifies information integration between these activities. After automatically obtaining raw material and customer order information from a company's enterprise resource planning system, PMX MES helps enhance process accuracy and increases throughput by ensuring that the plant-floor receives, processes and documents the proper ingredients. PMX MES also electronically records equipment status changes, such as cleaning processes and calibration activities and seamlessly shares this information with other system components and external systems.

To help with regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11, PMX MES provides electronic logbook handling with paperless production data capabilities to help manufacturers select the criteria they need for production consistency and archival record-keeping, including date/time, equipment, orders and electronic batch records. Additionally, by automatically integrating with Rockwell Software RSBizWare Batch, PMX MES users can retrieve batch status information, report batch parameters and batch history data, and specify the exact name/version to a recipe, reducing system lifetime costs.
