Mercury Solar Systems Completes 103kW Solar System for the Estee Lauder Companies in Long Island, NY

MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov. 18, 2010 - Mercury Solar Systems, Inc., one of the top solar integrators on the East Coast, today announced the completion of a 103 kilowatt (kW) solar energy system on The Estee Lauder Companies' Automated Storage Facility in Long Island, NY. The project is part of The Estee Lauder Companies' long-term commitment to reduce its global energy consumption by investing in renewable and greener energy sources.

The solar energy system consists of 385 solar panels and is expected to generate over 120,000 kilowatt-hours annually. This is enough energy to power about 10 average size homes and is equivalent to taking 13 cars off the road and recycling over 2 million cans of soda every year.

"Mercury Solar Systems remains at the forefront of the commercial solar market in Long Island and we are pleased to work with The Estee Lauder Companies on this project," commented Frank Alfano, CEO, Mercury Solar Systems. "We continue to see a high level of interest from businesses looking to capitalize on the substantial federal and state solar energy incentives available today and believe this momentum will continue into 2011."
