MedQuist and AAMT Team Up to Help Improve Dictation

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., March 22 // -- Clinical documentation and health records play a vital role in every aspect of healthcare delivery and decision making, no matter what the setting. Incomplete or inaccurate documentation can lead to patient care errors and the potential for sentinel events. On the other hand, high quality dictation can decrease report turnaround time, helping to ensure timely delivery of care as well as accelerating reimbursement. The kit is designed to assist facilities with the adoption and implementation of policies and training practices that will promote high quality dictation and ensure the best documentation outcomes. audiovisual presentation;
o PowerPoint presentation with handouts for a live seminar;
o Rationale for promoting better dictation practices;
o Dictation 101 (recommendations for instructing dictators in good
dictation habits); and
o Visual aids such as "Q" Cards (quick reference information), a tip
sheet, and a Documentation Workflow poster.
