Press Release Summary:
Bright blue in uncured state, DYMAX MD® 1200 series simultaneously enhances visibility and allows automated vision systems to confirm adhesive placement prior to curing. During light-curing process, blue color transitions to clear when full cure has been achieved. Solvent-free product, suited for rapid bonding various substrates, cures in seconds when exposed to high-intensity UV/Vis light, is ISO 10993-approved, and is compatible with gamma, EtO, and E-Beam sterilization.
Original Press Release:
Medical Adhesives Have Built-In Cure Indicator
New DYMAX MD® "1200" series medical device adhesives are formulated with DYMAX's exclusive See-Cure (built-in cure indicator) technology. They are bright blue in color in their uncured state, making them easy to see on the surface of substrates, in deep wells, or when sandwiched between two layers of materials. The blue color allows automated vision systems to confirm adhesive placement prior to curing, resulting in greater efficiency and less scrap.
During the light-curing process, the blue color transitions to clear, indicating that full cure has been achieved. This visual cure-indicator may be used to qualify the process and then to ensure that the process remains within established control parameters.
The DYMAX MD® "1200" series adhesives are ideal for rapid bonding of a wide variety of substrates found in reservoirs, plastic housings, respiratory devices, needles, syringes, tube sets, fittings, and other medical devices.
The "1200" series adhesives are solvent free and cure in seconds when exposed to high-intensity UV/Visible light, enabling faster processing, greater output, and lower assembly costs. They are ISO 10993 approved and are compatible with gamma, EtO, and E-Beam sterilization.
