Medical Contacts and Connectors for Harsh Environments to Be Presented at the MD&M Show

Kansas City, KS-- Interconnect Devices, Inc. (IDI), the worlds leading manufacturer of spring contact probes, test sockets and custom interconnect solutions will be highlighting several off-the-shelf contact and custom connector solutions at the MD&M Show, Booth # 1997, February 13 -15, 2007.

Exhibit attendees will learn about the broad diversity of the IDI Medical Contact product line, including off-the-shelf and custom contact solutions, and see examples of how contacts have been integrated into unique IDI Medical connector assemblies. In addition, IDIs technical sales staff will demonstrate the reliability features that make IDI contacts and connectors ideal for applications where contact is vital, whether for one cycle or hundreds of thousands of cycles.

The exhibit presentation will emphasize the effectiveness of IDI contacts and connectors in solving the unique interconnect challenges of harsh medical environments - such as vibration, extreme temperatures and moisture. Medical applications to be discussed include camera pills, cochlear implants, medical dispensers, organ transplant units, defibrillators, surgical instruments, MRI equipment and dermatology exfoliating equipment.

Available to visitors is a recent study by Contech Research, an Independent Test and Research Laboratory, which evaluated the performance of IDI spring probe battery contacts. The study, Mechanical Shock and Random Vibration Testing on IDI Probes, documents the performance of four IDI contacts designed for use in medical applications.
