Synergetix Introduces Twelve New Medical Connector Contacts

January 2006

Kansas City, KS- Synergetix®, a leader in the development of ultra reliable, custom interconnect solutions, has expanded its line of off-the-shelf Medical Connector Contacts to further meet the needs of medical electronics product designers who are seeking ultra reliability.

The new Synergetix Medical Connector Contacts are compact, rugged and can be incorporated in medical connector assemblies in normal environments or where conditions are harsh, like extreme temperatures, vibration or impact. These contacts are suited for:
o Hearing aids
o Medical dispensers
o Defibrillators
o Surgical instruments
o MRI Scanners
o Microscopes
o Docking stations

The new connector contacts offer a wide range of design options, including:
o A variety of terminations
o Overall lengths from .173" to .513"
o Double Ended designs
o Fit within a variety of footprints
o Current ratings from three to 30 amps

"We now offer our shortest thru-hole mount battery contact," said Cory Just, OEM Product Specialist. This contact has an overall length of .173" and a maximum travel of .040"

Also expanded is Synergetix's most popular contact line, the 100410. "You can now have all the great advantages of the 100410 but with a longer plunger option or a termination option of either solder cup or crimp," added Just.

Highlights of the other new contacts include:

o The 100804 for the most robust applications. Sitting on .250" centers and carrying up to 30 amps this battery contact can survive the most extreme applications.

o The patented eccentric drilled probes with the advantage of a larger spring cavity resulting in a more compact probe without sacrificing consistency in resistance.

o Four new double-ended probes.

o The 101066-000, one of Synergetix's most widely used custom battery contacts, has a long bearing surface, bias spring and is designed for extreme ruggedness.

Synergetix, established in 1994, is a leader in the design and manufacture of custom interconnects including high performance test sockets for the semiconductor industry and product connectors for the medical, military, aerospace and telecommunications industries.
