MediaTile Delivers 6X Performance Improvement in 'End-Cap TV' Digital Signage Broadcasting Using Verizon Wireless EV-DO Rev-A

MediaTile Demonstrates Cellular Digital Signage Solution That Integrates Verizon Wireless EV-DO Rev A Broadband Support At National Association of Broadcasters Event

LAS VEGAS, April 16, NAB 2007 -- The MediaTile Company, the first provider of cellular digital signage technology and direct broadcast networks, announced that it has significantly increased the speed of digital media delivery to its customers' networks by incorporating the latest cellular broadband technology from Verizon Wireless. MediaTile has integrated Verizon Wireless' EV-DO Rev-A technology into its cellular-digital-signage solutions and Digital-Sign-In-A-Box(TM) products. This new cellular-broadband technology delivers nearly six times performance improvement over the previous Verizon Wireless broadband services used by MediaTile. The new system is being demonstrated in the Verizon Wireless Booth (# C1851) at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from April 16th through April 19th.

"By Incorporating Verizon Wireless' latest cellular broadband technology into our solutions, we can now provide our customers with a direct broadcast network that rivals terrestrial Ethernet and Satellite network performance, yet without any of the costs and complexities of an on-site network deployment," said Keith Kelsen, CEO of The MediaTile Company. "With the virtual elimination of on-site networking, MediaTiles deliver an incredible amount of marketing power and flexibility -- yet they are unbelievably simple and cost-effective to deploy and operate. This makes MediaTile ideal for the new generation of digital signage, and direct broadcasting networks that are popping up everywhere. We are seeing MediaTiles integrated into retail displays and end-caps, in lobbies and waiting areas, convenience stores and pump-tops, banks and heath clubs."

"MediaTile and their affiliate narrowcasters are a perfect example of a new breed of out of home networks that are delivering the advantages of both traditional media and new media like eye-catching 'TurboContent' episodes that entertain as well as inform consumers," said Jason Thompson, International Business Manager for IFE and Captive Audience Networks, World Wide Entertainment.

In a recent announcement by Verizon Wireless, the new CDMA 1x Evolution- Data Optimized ("EV-DO") Revision A ("Rev. A") technology was initially released in the Boston area and is now being "rolled out" to the more than 242 major metropolitan areas in the U.S. that already have access to Verizon Wireless' popular EV-DO BroadbandAccess data services network. In addition, the company announced that their business data service, BroadbandAccess, will run faster and more efficiently with "Rev A" network enhancements. The result, MediaTile networks will realize download speeds of 5 to 6 times faster than that of the current EV-DO network.
