Mobile, AL, November 1, 2003 - Today N-TRON Corp. introduced the 302MC Industrial Media Converter, which offers the "state of the art" Ethernet switching technology in a unique compact size. Measuring two inches wide and weighing less than one pound, the 302MC provides a smaller footprint, conserving space in the most critical dimension.
The N-TRON 302MC Industrial Media Converter is designed to allow the connection of 10/100BaseT Ethernet devices to a fiber cabling infrastructure. The 302MC provides one RJ-45 Auto-sensing 10/100BaseTX port and one 100BaseFX port. The 302MC auto-negotiates the speed and flow control capabilities of the TX copper port connection, and configures itself automatically.
The 302MC uses switching technology, so unlike most media converters, customers can connect the 10Mbps devices they have today and upgrade them to 100Mbps tomorrow. The switching fabric simply scales up or down automatically to match the specific network environment. The 302MC also supports up to 4,000 MAC addresses, enabling these products to support extremely sophisticated and complex network architectures.
Like all N-TRON products, the 302MC has full IEEE 802.3 compliance, and is designed specifically to withstand extreme temperature, noise, shock and vibrations. The 302MC is housed in a rugged industrial steel enclosure, which can be DIN-RAIL or panel mounted. The 302MC offers Advanced Management Functions like N-View(TM) OLE for Process Control (OPC) Server Software. N-View can be combined with popular HMI software packages to add network traffic monitoring, trending, and alarming to any application using N-TRON switches configured with the
N-View option.
