State Prison Systems Turn to Medbox for Solutions

The problem of lost, stolen or abused prescription medicines inside prisons is endemic. According to CNBC, with more than 2.3 million people locked up, the U.S. has the highest incarceration rate in the world. One out of 100 American adults is behind bars.

According to a Special Report on California Prison Pharmacies from the Inspector General of the State of California, there is "an unreliable pharmacy inventory system." Furthermore, the prison pharmacy staff told inspectors that the "inventory system was not accurate and could not be trusted."
