Baumer Electric Introduces Measuring Light Curtain Line
Southington, Conn. - September 30, 2003. Baumer Electric has introduced the Infrascan line of self contained measuring light curtains used to profile the size and shape of objects. These precision detection and measuring devices offer resolutions from 1.25 to 50 mm and measuring distance ranges of more than six meters or 19.6 feet. The Infrascan series is not a safety rated device.
The Infrascan light curtains feature measuring windows from 75mm to 2375mm within a single housing, & up to 3870mm with our modular housing series. Featuring IP67 housings and integrated controllers, the two-piece Infrascan system is fully programmable using Windows®-based software. The Infrascan can be easily integrated into existing systems using Baumer's standard RS422 interface or optional interfaces such as SSI or 10-bit parallel. An external module can be used to convert the standard RS422 signal into either a voltage or current analog output that will indicate the target's location or size. The Infrascan is also available with custom-designed interfaces.
A scanning frequency up to 110Khz translates into cycle times as fast as 0.39 ms. Wide angle dispersion LEDs and the integrated message LEDs translate into simple installation.
