MCM Completes LAC+USC Replacement Medical Facility Project

Built in East Los Angeles in Conjunction with University of Southern California and Los Angeles County Hospital

STEINBACH, Manitoba, Feb. 4 - Partnered with design firm HOK of Los Angeles and LBL Associated Architects of Santa Monica, MCM served as the millwork provider for the LAC+USC project. At over $8 million in millwork, the project included highly detailed work involving a large number of custom nursing stations and custom wall panels in four distinct building components.

Replacing a facility that had grown outdated in many areas and which was badly damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the new LAC+USC Medical Center & Replacement Hospital was a massive undertaking.

Mid Canada Millwork (http://www.midcanadamillwork.com/) was selected by a joint venture construction group consisting of McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. (http://www.mccarthy.com/) of Newport Beach, Clark Construction Group, LLC (http://www.clarkconstruction.com/) of Costa Mesa, and the Hunt Construction Group (http://www.huntconstructiongroup.com/) of Phoenix to provide all necessary architectural millwork and custom casework.

The new LAC+USC Replacement Medical Facility will include four major components: a seven-story outpatient building; an eight-story inpatient tower; a five-story diagnostic and treatment building; and a central energy plant.
