New Roller Conveyor Sections Augment Material Handling System

Creform® Corporation continues to expand the application possibilities for its Creform System of material handling structures with the introduction of two new, interrelated components. The new items include high-strength, lightweight roller conveyor sections, and left and right mounting brackets for attaching the conveyor modules to Creform's 28mm pipes.

Typical uses for the economical roller conveyors are in flow racks, work stations and storage racks/shelving, where the full width support offered by roller-style is best suited, as opposed to concentrated loading of 'skatewheel' type conveyors. Applications best handled by roller conveyors include soft-bottomed containers such as corrugated boxes, plastic totes with irregular shaped bottoms, and for situations where various sizes of containers are handled. The use of roller sections can also be extended to the handling of non-containerized products such as the one-piece-flow of manufactured items.

The roller tracks feature steel side C-frames for rigidity and strength, while the rollers are lightweight aluminum along with plastic, low-resistance roller bearings. The rollers are assembled with a through axle and have been given a low-profile design to minimize interference and save vertical space. The roller tracks are available in width options of 6, 9, 12, and 15" and roller-to-roller centerlines of 1, 2, 3 and 4" . The tracks can be ordered-to-length to fit the applicable structure's dimensions and offer support strengths of up to 50 pounds per foot.

The new mounting brackets, designated TX-0060L and TX-0060R, are heavy-duty stamped steel and plated to match other Creform hardware components and accessories. When mounting roller track sections to structures, the side frame of the track slides into the one end of the appropriate mount, either left hand or right hand, while the other end of the bracket snaps over the pipe...no tools or modifications to the pipe are required.

The roller conveyor track/mount selections join Creform's existing skatewheel style conveyors and slide pipe components to provide users with multiple options for moving materials as efficiently and economically as needed by their application criteria.

Representative examples of Creform-built structures encompass push carts and trailers; flow racks; conveyors; hinged shelf carts; tilting racks and tables; height adjustable work tables and workstations along with portable tool cribs and storage units. Anti-static structures for electronic work can be constructed using Creform's ESD-rated components. Creform also offers pipe and fixtures made from stainless steel, plus high-strength 42mm diameter pipe for use in structures. Bolt-on drive units and easy to install routing systems can convert existing manual Creform carts or trailers into efficient Automated Guided Carts (AGC).

The Creform System is a material handling concept...more than just a product, it is a series of plastic coated steel pipes, joints, fixtures and hardware accessories that can be easily designed and fabricated by users, operators and assemblers-the people who know the job best, into a host of multi-task handling structures. Creform is a major component in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing programs. Creform Corporation partners with many of its customers in developing and implementing these programs.
