Massachusetts Department of Transportation Selects ACL Technology to Manage Risk and Save Costs

Government Agency Chooses ACL™ Analytics Exchange and ACL™ GRC to Prevent Revenue Loss

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – ACL today announced that The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has selected ACL Analytics Exchange (AX) and ACL GRC to continuously monitor transportation transactions across the state. Examples include tolling, motor vehicle, highway and bridge construction, rail, and so on. The software implementation will prevent errors, waste, and fraud, as well as mitigate enterprise-wide risk, including within the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV).

In an effort to ensure accurate tolling and prevent errors, MassDOT was in search of an end-to-end data analytics and risk management system. The seamless integration of ACL's industry-standard analytics with the intuitive risk management capabilities of ACL GRC stood out as clear differentiators that separated ACL's solutions from competitors. For example, MassDOT will be able to continuously monitor a variety of toll, motor vehicle, and other transportation transactions, as well as deliver visual reports to senior management as part of the organization's enterprise risk management program, which can be centrally managed through the software.

"We are embracing new technologies to better serve our mission and the public by continuously monitoring each and every transaction in order to prevent loss," said Richard A. Davey, Secretary & CEO at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. "We are accountable to the people of Massachusetts, and through use of ACL's technology, we are able to strengthen our risk management processes and provide more value to those who travel through the Commonwealth using our transportation system."

The integration of ACL's technology will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of MassDOT's reporting capabilities, as it enables users to transform disjointed rows of data into meaningful visual reports for senior management and all stakeholders.

"The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is a prime example of a modern, innovative government agency that is striving to be more transparent and proactive in ensuring accuracy," said Greg Thomas, Director, Public Sector Practice at ACL. "By implementing continuous monitoring, MassDOT will be able to identify red flags as soon as they arise, before they can become damaging to operations."
