Massachusetts-Based Little River Boat Yard Purchases Marine Travelift M2000s Forklift to Assist with Drystack Storage

STURGEON BAY, WI – Marine Travelift Inc. announced that Little River Boat Yard of Mashpee, Massachusetts took delivery a new M2000S forklift this month. Little River Boat Yard is a full-service marina on Seconsett Island on Cape Cod, with access to Waquoit Bay and Vineyard Sound.

According to Jack Anderson of Norwell, Massachusetts-based Marine Travelift dealer Martin Walter Company, Little River Boat Yard first became a Marine Travelift customer in 2002. "Rack storage is rare in the Northeast, and the Burtis family story is a good one," Anderson said. "In 1976, Bill, the father, bought a small marina and cottages, and then Jonathan, the son, moved to rack storage that helps provide security for the vessels from storms. And, the yard still has a real family atmosphere with Jonathan's daughter Jennifer, in the role as business manager."

In 2002, Little River Boat Yard purchased a new M2000 forklift to help manage yard operations. Anderson said Little River Boat Yard decided to add the M2000S forklift this year because it would give them double the performance while also providing a valuable backup during busier times.

The Marine Travelift M2000S forklift has a shorter wheelbase than your average 20,000-pound-capacity forklift, which improves the overall turning radius. With the operator needing less space to maneuver the machine, larger boats can be stored more efficiently.

"Marine Travelift offers proven, reliable equipment solutions for drystack storage," Anderson commented. "Little River Boat Yard wanted that reliability and versatility, and they appreciated having local dealer support and available lease plans.
