Mass Flow Controller handles non-contaminated gases.

Press Release Summary:

Type 8172, with CMOSens® technology, senses small amount of gas flow. It handles neutral gases at nominal flow rates of 20 mlN/min to 50 lN/min. Controller outputs measured values with accuracy of ±0.5% full scale. Maximum operating pressure is 145 psi, depending on nominal valve diameter. Fieldbus communications capabilities include PROFIBUS-DP and DeviceNet. Type 8712 provides output signal of 0-5 V, 0-10 V, 0-20 mA, or 4-20 mA.

Burkert Announces Type 8712 Mass Flow Controller for Gases

Irvine, Calif., August 9, 2002 - Burkert USA introduces the Type 8712 Mass Flow Controller (MFC), built to handle neutral, non-contaminated gases at nominal flow rates of 20 mlN/min to 50 lN/min. Application areas for this MFC include fuel cell technology, process technology, packaging, food processing, environmental technology, surface refinement, materials coating and burner controllers.

The Type 8712 MFC incorporates CMOSens (Registered Trademark)
technology, enabling sensing of the smallest amounts of gas flow,
making the MFC highly precise and reliable. The Type 8712 MFC rapidly outputs measured values, with accuracy +/-1 percent of Rdg. And +/-0.5 percent full scale. Linearity is +/-1 percent full scale. Type 8712 MFC repeatability is +/-0.5 percent full scale, while maximum operating pressure (inlet pressure) is 10 bar (145 psi), depending on nominal valve diameter. Fieldbus communications capabilities include PROFIBUS-DP and DeviceNet (others upon request).

The Type 8712 MFC features an output signal of 0-5V, 0-10V, 0-20mA or 4-20mA. With a stainless steel body, the unit measures approximately 4.5 x 5.5 x 1.5 inches and weighs less than three pounds.
