Raymarine Launches the ST60 Plus Instrument System
Upgraded Technology and Design Enhancements to the Popular ST60 Instrument System Allow for Easy Operation and Superior Performance
MERRIMACK, N.H. and MIAMI, Feb. 16 - Miami International Boat Show -- Raymarine, Inc., a world leader in marine electronics, today announced the ST60 Plus instrument system, an enhanced version of the renowned ST60 instrument system, at the Miami International Boat Show in Miami, Fla. The ST60 Plus system features eight upgraded instrument heads for precise measurement and control, including graphic, speed, tridata, depth, wind, close hauled wind, compass and rudder displays.
With a sleek design to match C- and E-Series displays, along with easy-to- use push-button controls, ST60 Plus instruments offer superior functionality, allowing for quick and intuitive operation. In addition, all instruments come equipped with an individual unit on/off button for increased power saving. The ST60 Plus instrument system is available in stand-alone displays and as sophisticated, fully integrated systems.
"Based on Raymarine's strong history of delivering innovative and reliable instruments, we're excited to introduce the ST60 Plus instrument system, which incorporates the latest technologies available on the market," said Terry Carlson, president of Raymarine. "In addition, the new, streamlined design of these advanced instruments gives any vessel a modern and uniform appearance, especially when coupled with the C- or E-Series displays."
The eight instrument heads with enhanced features available in the ST60 Plus instrument display range include:
Graphic: Offers NMEA bridging and allows all data available through the ST60 Plus SeaTalk network to be customized in easy-to-read formats and multi- line data. This display can also be split four ways to show data from the other instruments in the user's preferred format. The graphic display is equipped with an external alarm.
Speed: Incorporates upgrades to the speed display including Speed Over Ground (SOG) and the ability to display speed through water and sea surface temperature.
Tridata: Combines depth information with speed in an easy to read three- line display. Upgrades include Speed Over Ground (SOG) and the ability to display speed through water and sea surface temperature.
Depth: Provides easy-to-view digits with a depth trend indicator, showing minimum and maximum depth. This display allows for automatic switching of depth sensors when used in conjunction with digital sounder modules to avoid interference problems, and has audible shallow, anchor and deep-water alarms.
Wind: Combines analog and digital measurements, and calculates both apparent and true wind speed and direction. This instrument is particularly useful for sailing and racing yachts.
Close Hauled Wind: Shows a magnified 20-degree-60 degree display.
Compass: Showcases an easy-to-read analog/digital display, with a patented fluxgate transducer.
Rudder: Functions as a repeater for a SeaTalk autopilot.
The ST60 Plus instrument system, which interfaces with Raymarine's upgraded Pilot heads and has new flush mount options for ST6002, ST7002 and ST8002, is expected to be available in March 2006. The full array of instruments can be viewed at the Miami International Boat Show at booth A100.
