MARCOZA Architectural Bronze Plaques Preserve Fort Worth History

On  June 6, 2014, the Trinity River Vision Authority dedicated the John V. McMillan Plaza commemorating the founding of Fort Worth with great pomp and ceremony. To help emphasize this significant event of our western heritage, the MARCOZA architectural castings division of Midland Manufacturing created five large bronze plaques highlighting some of the multifaceted aspects of this story and helping to preserve it for all time.

Each unique plaque provides a glimpse into the founding and settling of Fort Worth by Major Ripley Allen Arnold describing the events, people and culture of that period. These bronze castings which measure 32" x 28" and weigh approximately 100 lbs. each, are cast in our continuous loop no-bake process out of architectural bronze. We combine our deep level of experience along with the latest technology and equipment to cast both bronze and aluminum products of the highest quality. We are able to photographically generate crests and logos from a variety of digital formats and artists are also available on retainer, who can custom craft a 3D personal likeness or other graphics in a bas relief representation similar to those found on the ‘Plaza’ dedication plaque above. These castings are then hand-chased and given a rich dark bronze patina. The raised lettering and graphic features are then satin finished to a high luster. Finally, the entire plaque is clear urethane coated for a lasting finish.

Bronze is a time tested source for custom designed architectural castings and plaques, often chosen for its air of dignity, power and permanence. At Midland, we have been an architectural brass and bronze foundry, and a staple of Texas manufacturing since 1889. Allow our specialists at our MARCOZA architectural castings division help you frame your message in elegant works of beauty, with endurance that can be enjoyed for all time.

All MARCOZA products are proudly MADE IN THE USA. To learn more about this project or to discuss a plaque or architectural casting project you may be considering, please feel free to contact Owen Daniel directly at or 800-678-4848.
