Mapinfo Previews Anysite® at BCSC Conference & Showcase 2006, Stand. No. 66

AnySite® preview demonstrates the latest powerful location intelligence tool for site selection and consumer analytics for retail and property decision makers

Manchester, 7 November 2006 - MapInfo Corporation, the leading global provider of location intelligence solutions, today announces it is to preview AnySite®, its essential new analytical tool for developing site location strategies, at this year's BCSC.
Heralded by retail leaders in the US - eight of the top ten retailers and seven of the top ten speciality retailers in the US rely on AnySite® for their site selection processes - it has been developed for the UK market to help retail, restaurant, financial services and property decision makers to analyse the relationship between store performance and market trade area demographic characteristics.

"AnySite has been designed from the ground up with retail and property professionals in mind," says Andy Thompson, Director of Analytical Services, MapInfo EMEA. "The product specifically reproduces the workflow that analysts require for evaluating opportunities and provides the necessary insight that ensures correct location decisions are made."

When coupled with a custom site selection or store forecasting model from the MapInfo Predictive Analytics team, AnySite® becomes the most powerful retail analytical tool on the market.

"AnySite® is at the pinnacle of all retail decision support tools which is achieved through the combining of location intelligence data, the best methodologies, and the combined experience of location analysts and the MapInfo analytical services professionals," concludes Thompson.

Due to ship to the UK in January 2007, AnySite® enables users to map out, identify and tightly target advertising, direct mail and other marketing campaigns to specific profile customers and to refine site selections by, among a raft of criteria, consumer lifestyle and consumption behaviour.

Its unique reporting proposition offers an unparalleled facility to enable the generation of hundreds of maps and reports in one session, whilst the automated trade area definition tool enables users to define their default area definition and set of critical variables and then simply select a site or sites and AnySite® generates the trade area(s).

US retail giant JCPenny's depends on AnySite® as part of its MapInfo location intelligence solution to facilitate its off-mall location strategy adopted in 2003 to meet market trends. "Selecting the best new markets and sites may be the most important single factor in our company's profitable growth," said Mark Kalmbacher, Manager of Market Intelligence for JCPenny's Real Estate Market Analysis department (REMA).

MapInfo and AnySite® software helps the REMA team to conduct feasibility studies to support location-related decisions of broad scope. "We not only recommend where to build new JCPenny stores," said Kalmbacher, "but we also identify current stores to consider for relocation, renovation, expansion, downsizing and closure."

"We're very excited to be able to bring AnySite® to BCSC this year," says Andy Thompson. "There's really nothing like it on the market. We truly see AnySite® as the definitive solution for retail and property decision makers in this highly competitive climate."

MapInfo AnySite® will be previewed for demonstration on the MapInfo stand, No. 66 at BCSC, Manchester, 7-8 November 2006. Visit: http://bcsc.org.uk/conference/exhibition_exhibitors.asp?exhibitor_id=274&exhibitor_cat_id=1
