EMT Announces VisualPlant 4.0

Press Release Date: Nov. 12, 2003

Body Text: Executive Manufacturing Technologies (EMT, London, Ontario) today announced the new release of VisualPlant(TM) 4.0, at its inaugural Manufacturing Intelligence Summit. VisualPlant users such as Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, Avery Dennison, and Gillette have gathered to review and examine important new features of VisualPlant 4.0. VisualPlant provides real-time collection, analysis and reporting of critical manufacturing data from multiple sources - CNC equipment, sensors, PLCs, gauges and others. Based on the Microsoft .NET architecture, VisualPlant provides seamless enterprise-wide visibility of plant-floor production data as it happens. The first and only platform for collecting plant floor information based on a universal factory data model, VisualPlant Platform lowers the overall total cost of ownership for manufacturing organizations by effectively replacing multiple systems that collect and report on plant floor data. It also delivers tremendous flexibility to completely replace legacy applications, use some of their capabilities, or host them within the VisualPlant environment.

Optional add-in modules are designed for integrating data collected by VisualPlant with ERP systems such as SAP, and a module for Statistical Process Control activities (SPC). "Since 1998 VisualPlant has set the standard for enterprise manufacturing intelligence software," states Dennis Cocco, EMT president and CEO. "VisualPlant 4.0 is the culmination of five years of working with the world's leading manufacturers and delivers on our vision of providing the most scalable and cost-effective manufacturing intelligence solution the market has ever seen. For the first time ever, large manufacturers will be able to collect, analyze and report on data across multiple plants with thousands of assets."

VisualPlant 4.0 will be available in the fourth quarter of 2003.
