Rockwell Automation Expands FactoryTalk Historian SE Software to Ease Data Organization, Analysis and Reporting

Latest version utilizes unified production model to aggregate historical and real-time data and provide more consistent, powerful reports

MILWAUKEE - Rockwell Automation today announced the newest version of its FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition (SE) application. The new version incorporates FactoryTalk VantagePoint software as its reporting client to aggregate historical, real-time alarms and events data, and provides users with consistent, powerful reporting tools. By utilizing FactoryTalk VantagePoint as the client, users can create reports using an advanced Trend Tool, XY Plotter, Excel Add-in and dashboards and publish them easily via a Web-based portal.

FactoryTalk VantagePoint software utilizes a unified production model to ease organization, analysis and reporting of data gathered from the Rockwell Automation Logix Control Platform, as well as third-party data sources. By doing so, users at all levels in the organization can look at manufacturing performance through role-based key performance indicators, reports and dashboards so they can more easily meet manufacturing and performance goals.

"Manufacturers are looking for immediate access to real-time data that they can turn into insightful information that's visible and useful to people at every level of the organization," said Keith McPherson, market development director, Rockwell Autamation. "By bringing the historical data gathered from FactoryTalk Historian SE into the Web-based reports provided through FactoryTalk VantagePoint, manufacturers have the ability to create relevant reports, dashboards and KPIs so they can evaluate manufacturing problems before they impact the bottom line."

FactoryTalk Historian SE collects, stores, analyzes and visualizes production data using powerful data capture and storage engines that can be used within process, discrete and hybrid environments.

FactoryTalk VantagePoint, in turn, leverages a unified production model to provide access to virtually all plant data sources, and produces Web-based reports such as dashboards, trends and Microsoft Excel reports. Operators, engineers, supervisors, management and executives throughout the plant can use these reports to manage cost, quality, production, assets and resources more effectively.

Combining FactoryTalk Historian SE software and FactoryTalk VantagePoint software results in a manufacturing intelligence solution that turns production data into actionable information. Access to this information empowers users at all levels of an organization to make informed decisions based on a more comprehensive view of the plant.
