AGS Technology is a low-cost custom injection molder of parts and assemblies using recycled plastics. Through proprietary processes at its ISO/TS16949 certified facility, AGS Technology keeps some 10 million lbs/year of scrap plastics out of landfills by turning them into fresh auto parts and other durable goods.
The unique raw material business model requires AGS Technology to carry a larger materials inventory, and it must maintain complete materials traceability. Over time, this product complexity, along with significant business growth, began taxing AGS Technology's existing system, which was based primarily on spreadsheets. With the added challenge of overly time-consuming and cumbersome production scheduling, AGS Technology knew it needed a modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.
AGS Technology considered a range of ERP solutions, from low-end manufacturing resource planning (MRP) programs to high-end ERP packages.
