Kurt to Preview 4 Inch Capacity HDL Manual Vise at IMTS '06
New Design Provides Optimal High Density Workholding For Smaller Parts
Minneapolis, Minnesota: Kurt announced today that it will unveil a 4 inch capacity version of its HDL manual vise at IMTS '06 with delivery in '07. Like the extremely successful 6 inch HDL vise, the HDLM4 is a high density long vise with two clamping stations.
Designed for smaller machining projects utilizing smaller machining centers, this new 4 inch capacity high density vise provides repeatable clamping to 0.001 inch (with a jaw change). It delivers up to 6,316 lbs. of clamping force at 70 lbs. of torque. Like all Kurt vises, the new HDLM4 is an extremely rigid vise because it features an 80,000 PSI ductile iron body with precision machined steel components. For maximum flexibility, it will be available with quick change machinable aluminum, cast iron and hard jaws.
Additional features include: adjustable pre-load design minimizes pre-load range thus reducing the turns of the handle to open or close the vise; holding block allows clamping same or dissimilar sized parts and provides pre-loading ability in the front or back jaw; maximizes the number of parts in the work envelope and multiple part workholding provides better spindle utilization, reduced tool change time and reduced machine travel from part to part.
"The new HDLM4 design is in response to machinists' successes using the 6 inch HD vise model and now want a smaller model for their smaller machining centers," reports Steve Kane, sales manager. "This new HDLM4 with two clamping stations, machinable jaw options and compact design makes possible maximum density workholding across the full range of today's smaller machining centers, particularly for precise medical device and electronic part machining projects."
Kane also stated that the Kurt HD workholding family of vises and towers have proven to be real problem solvers because they enhance machining center performance, which translates into immediate, improved profitability.
Like all Kurt vise products, the new HDLM4 carries Kurt's Iron Clad Lifetime warrantee.
Kurt is the "must see" IMTS destination for the latest Workholding Systems Technology including the new HDLM4 vise September 6-13, Booth E-2749, McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois.
