SMC Networks' Tiger Access(TM) Managed Services Platforms Enable Solution Providers to Minimize Onsite Service Requirements While Delivering Better Support Services at Better Margins to Generate Predictable, Quality Revenue

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 17 /- SMC Networks, a leading provider of advanced, high performance networking solutions for the SMB and enterprise markets, today announced the launch of the Tiger Access(TM) Managed Services Platform, a family of integrated hardware and software solutions that enable VARs and IT administrators to remotely and securely monitor and manage their networks from anywhere in the world through a standard Web browser. Ideal for value-added resellers and enterprise installations with multiple or large networks to manage, the TigerAccess Managed Services Platform products can reduce system downtime and vastly improve maintenance efficiencies in the administration of large or multiple network infrastructures.

The new Tiger Access Managed Services Platform product family includes a range of appliances based on Intel and Microsoft solutions which will deliver the service within the customer's network. This includes an entry level appliance for monitoring and reporting on network devices and a larger 2U appliance which also includes backup capabilities.

To implement SMC's Tiger Access Managed Services Platform into a local area network, users purchase a service level agreement (SLA) and receive a network management appliance to support the features of the SLA. Available service level agreements include:

-- SMC S1100 -- Ships with a small, flexible network management appliance;

-- SMC S3101 -- Ships with a small, flexible network management appliance with 1TB of storage;

-- SMC S6406 -- Ships with a 2U network management appliance with 12 hard disk drives to provide 6TB of storage capacity for local backup.

The Tiger Access Managed Services Platform provides VARs and IT administrators with the capability to remotely monitor their networks and receive alerts on potential issues or equipment failures enabling them to proactively respond to and fix problems before they turn into unscheduled network downtime.
