Digital Presence Systems Allow Remote Teaching and Real-Time Interaction between Multiple Hospitals
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 23 - Telanetix, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: TNXI), a leading IP solutions provider offering telepresence and VoIP services to the SMB and SME markets, announced the installation of its Digital Presence(TM) products in four medical facilities affiliated with a major university. The installation of the systems makes it possible for field specialists and consulting physicians to teach and be called upon for consultations remotely, in real-time with life-like interaction. The room-based solutions provided by Telanetix also incorporate data-sharing from a wide array of sources, such as x-rays and ultrasounds, allowing the University to utilize the full array of expertise on its staff, regardless of which location that staff member is stationed.
Digital Presence's ability to integrate with the customer's existing software allows the hospitals to share content in high definition and in real time. This includes everything from slide presentations to live radiology content. The systems have also allowed the University to open up new choices for students in the intern program by eliminating the travel requirements that previously served as an obstacle.
