Trident Launches Automatic Maintenance Module for Ink Jet Printheads at WestPack 2003

Maintenance feature reduces ownership costs and maintains high print quality for ink jet carton coding market

Brookfleld, CT. (February 19, 2003) - Trident®, a leading designer and manufacturer of piezoelectric impulse ink jet printheads, announces a new Automatic Maintenance Module(TM) (AMM(TM)). The AMM significantly reduces operation costs by cutting the amount of time and money companies spend on maintaining and repairing printheads.

The Automatic Maintenance Module cleans printhead orifices at adjustable intervals of anywhere from two to 32 hours. Factory dust, sealing glue, corrugated fibers and any other substance that commonly causes orifice clogging on the factory floor are automatically purged from the printhead. This eliminates the need for priming, wiping and cleaning of printheads.

"The Automatic Maintenance Module allows factory workers to focus on their work and not worry about a clogged printhead slowing down their productions lines," said Steve Liker, Trident's Director of Marketing. "By reducing maintenance requirements, the AMM allows our customers to save both time and money."

Both the popular Trident UltraJet II printhead and the new Trident 768Jet printhead feature this new maintenance system (patents pending).
