New Infinitube(TM) FM-Series
London, United Kingdom - (MicroScience 2004) - July 6, 2004 - At MicroScience 2004, London, (one of the world's major events for science, microscopy and in-situ analysis), INFINITY PHOTO-OPTICAL COMPANY, the world leader in long-distance and continuously-focusable microscope technology announced the new InfiniTube(TM) FM-Series, part of the ever-growing PROXIMITY program. Like the original InfiniTube, these optics can be used with C-mount video cameras and infinity-corrected microscope objectives to provide high magnification images-virtually to the limits of optical microscopy. Yet, the new InfiniTube FM-Series is popularly-priced.
The FM-Series comprises four models with direct, built-in C-mount connectors: FM-100 (100mm focal length-for 1/3-in. and smaller sensors-or as a compact regular-power InfiniTube when used with a supplemental 2x DL doubler), FM-200 (for direct regular-power use), FM-200/RA (a 90-degree "bent" version of FM-200) and FM-200/DP (a dual-port version of FM-200). All have internal focusing adjustment for "touching-up" focus from a fixed position (FM-200/DP has independent internal focus on both video mounts). All can be used with adapters for Infinity's IF objectives-as well as RMS (Olympus), M25 (Nikon) and M26/Whitworth (Infinity's Achrovid and Mitutoyo's long-working distance microscope objectives).
In addition, Infinity Photo-Optical has developed two new accessories for the FM InfiniTubes: The PL-Series objectives and the Mini Coaxial Illuminator. The PL-Series objectives offer extreme compactness, optical quality on a par with much larger, bulkier microscope objectives-and extraordinarily long working distances. The Mini Coaxial Illuminator (MCI)-perhaps the smallest of its kind-can be used with the PL-Series directly, and with adapters, for most major-brand microscope objectives. An optional rotatable side collecter lens (high and low-power versions) can be fitted with an accessory polarizer filter, and a receptacle on the MCI accepts a second analyzer filter, permitting variable polarization.
