Magnetic Liquid Traps feature tapered step.

Press Release Summary:

Structured to hold ferrous debris against solid tapered step, Tapered-Step Magnetic Liquid Traps prevent wipe-off of tramp iron and fines, even in high-density applications with volumes up to 180 gpm. Units are equipped with Neodymium magnets capable of handling 300°F high-temperature load. Available in single- and dual-plate styles, traps come in 2 in. size rated to 250 psi as well as 3 and 4 in. sizes that handle up to 200 psi.

Bunting® Develops New Tapered Step Liquid Trap

NEWTON, KS - Bunting® Magnetics Co. has launched a new Tapered-Step design model in the plate-style series of our Magnetic Liquid Trap product line. This new style of Magnetic Liquid Trap is structured to hold ferrous debris against its solid tapered step to prevent wipe-off of tramp iron and fines even in high-density applications for volumes up to 180 gallons per minute (GPM).

"By designing our industry-leading Liquid Traps with the tapered-step, we are increasing the magnetic strength and reach out into the product stream and the holding force is increased substantially as well " stated Rick Bigham, Bunting® Product Manager for Magnetic Separation. "It is a great product for meat, poultry and other processes where higher viscosity products require purification."

The Bunting® tapered-step magnetic liquid trap comes equipped with powerful, high-energy Neodymium magnets which are capable of handling a 300º F high temperature load. This makes them ideal for clean-and-place systems. Furthermore, all Bunting liquid traps can handle high-pressure processing lines; the 2" sized models are rated at 250 psi while the 3" and 4" models handle up to 200 psi. All Bunting® liquid traps are tested at 150% of the rated pressure.

Configurations include single plate-style in 2 and 3 inch sizes as well as dual plate-style traps in 2, 3 and 4 inch sizes. Standard models feature a food-grade finish however; sanitary-grade finishes are available.
