Magnetic Drive Pumps have no seals, don't leak.

Press Release Summary:

Self-priming pumps are available in polypropylene/PVDF or high temperature PVDF materials, making them suitable for acids, alkalies, caustics, bleaches, sea water, solvents, and other harsh environments. There is no metal contact with liquid being pumped. Power is transmitted by magnetic field from magnet attached to motor through solid body of pump to magnet attached to impeller. Pumps have no shaft seals, eliminating leaks.

New Magnetic-Drive, Seal-Less, Self-Priming Pumps

Sethco, a division of Met-Pro Corporation, has extended its line of magnetic-drive, self-priming seal-less pumps. Three new pumps have been added including a 7-1/2 HP model for flow to 212 GPM.

Sethco magnetic-drive pumps are available in either polypropylene/PVDF or high temperature PVDF materials of construction and is recommended for acids, alkalies, caustics, bleaches, sea water, solvents and many other harsh environments. There is no metal contact with the liquid being pumped.

Since the pump is magnetically driven, no shaft seal is required. Power is transmitted by a magnetic field from the magnet attached to the motor through the solid body of the pump to the magnet attached to the impeller. No shaft seals means no seal leaks and no air leaks. Leakage and troublesome seal replacement are completely eliminated.

Priming the pump is said to be easy. The operator simply fills the priming chamber with the liquid to be pumped and turns the pump on. Other features include the ability to run dry after initial priming, easy to disassemble design and an internal basket strainer to prevent foreign objects from entering pump.

Sethco now offer a total of 50 models for flows from 9 GPM to 212 GPM.
