Magnemotion Electro-Magnetic Technology to Boost LCD Production for Shinsung Eng's Customers
QuickStick(TM) LSM Transport System to Move Next-Generation LCD Panels Through Manufacturing Process with Speed, Precision and Control; Displaces Conventional Clean Room Conveyors
Acton, MA, June 5, 2006 - MagneMotion, a developer and manufacturer of assembly automation, material handling and transportation solutions using electro-magnetic technology, announced today that its QuickStick linear synchronous motor (LSM) system will serve as a major sub-system for Shinsung ENG's fab automation system (FAS) for liquid crystal display (LCD) panel manufacturing. QuickStick modules and integrated controls will be used in the over-head system (OHS).

The QuickStick LSM System's controlled movement, precise indexing, and ease of integration were key factors in Shinsung ENG's decision-making process. Its direct drive approach eliminates the need for many mechanical wear parts which in turn reduces the particle generation typical of belt and chain-based conveyors. As a modular solution, the QuickStick LSM allows for easy system redesign and can handle multiple generations of LCD manufacture or other products as requirements change.
