Custom machined plastic drive and wear components, produced from a variety of FDA/USDA compliant materials to match specific performance requirements, have been introduced by Slideways, Inc. of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Slideways Custom Machined Plastic Components are produced from materials such as oil filled nylon for handling high speeds and loads, MD-nylon which features a dry lubricant to prevent dust from adhering to wear strips, acetal where high strength and stiffness is needed, glass filled PTFE for high temperature and chemical resistance, UHMW, and UHMW-HT.
Capable of achieving tolerances to ±0.0005" and surface finishes to 16 RMS, depending upon material and configuration, Slideways Custom Machined Plastic Components can be produced in prototype to production quantities. They include star wheels, wear strips, tracks for conveyor chain, bearings, cams, sprockets, and related parts.
