Hansco To Exhibit Digma, Esco And K'mx

Montvale, NJ. March 18, 2002...Hansco Technologies will exhibit the recently introduced DIGMA High Speed Vertrical Machining Centers for the moldmaking and electrode manufacturing applications that offer 1.7 g acceleration, 42,000 RPM and 1576 IPM travel to reduce machining cycle times by up to 30% without any loss in accuracy. The machines are equipped with the dynamic look ahead Heidenhain 530 CNC control with specially designed Digma software for high speed machining requirements. The high frequency spindles utilized feature multi-temperature sensors for spindle length compensation through the entire machining process. Toolchangers are 30 tools and 40 tools standard, (60 and 80 optional). Also on display will be the ESCO New Mach CNC 647 combining coil fed economy with CNC flexibility and is ideal for short and long runs of precision parts up to 1/4" diameter. The CNC 647 has a 12000 RPM rotating toolhead, 4 independent cutting tools and extensive backworking capabilities including cross drilling, threading, milling, and broaching. The latest option allows the rotation of the part in the pick up spindle with C-axis interpolation or at a turning speed of up to 4000 RPM. K'MX "Swing" 1026 Swiss type turning center with 26 mm bar capacity features rigid construction and powerful motor drives for taking heavy cuts in the toughest materials, and to the closest tolerances.

The Swing offers main and subspindle speeds of 8000 RPM, 10 axes (with two optional C axes) and a headstock stroke of 250 mm. With front, back and cross working tools, the modular tooling system allows for up to 4 tools to work simultaneously and up to 12 powered tools for optimum production of the most complex parts. The Swing comes with a Fanuc 160i control, dedicated software and a PC based CNC control for direct programming and quick setup.
