Cincinnati Machine's All-New Fixed Table Vertical (FTV) Machining Centers Deliver Versatility and Precision

CINCINNATI, OH (September 4, 2002) -Two models of the all-new family of Fixed Table Vertical (FTV) Machining Centers from Cincinnati Machine, offering versatility, speed and digital precision to heighten productivity for a wide range of users, can be seen in action at IMTS 2002 Booth #8101. Cincinnati Machine will be operating both the FTV 840-3700 and FTV 850-2500, two of the 11 models in the family of Cincinnati FTVs, at IMTS 2002. Designed by following extensive research, feedback, and data analysis from numerous machine tool users, the FTV 840-3700 and FTV 850-2500 both provide 40 and 50 taper, multi-tasking machining precision with an impressive 40 m/min rapid traverse in all axes, a 6 m/second² on X-axis and a 4 m/second² acc/dec rate. All Cincinnati FTV's feature a traveling column, enabling pendulum loading in cycle to reduce load/unload times and maximize spindle utilization. The FTV column is a compact, high strength structure for alignment integrity with the cross slide and spindle carrier castings providing a high strength-to-weight ratio and the stability to deliver up to 56 Hp (42 kW) of power. The 840-3700 X-Y-Z machining envelope measures up to 3,700 x 815 x 800 mm, allows operators to machine parts weighing up to 11,574 lbs. and up to 4,300 mm long within a compact footprint. The FTV 850-2500, with an X-Y-Z machining envelope measuring up to 2,540 x 815 x 800 mm, allows operators to machine parts weighing up to 8,250 lbs. and up to 3,140 mm long within a compact footprint. All FTV 850 models offer heavy duty 50 taper machining muscle combined with a standard 5,000 rpm, 600 ft. lbs. torque 56 Hp spindle. An 8,000 rpm spindle is optional. The high Y-Axis configuration of both machines provides minimum overhang for maximum rigidity and Y-Axis range. Positioning accuracies of +/-3 microns and repeatability of +/-1 micron can be achieved. A unique triangular design tool changer mechanism enables tool-to-tool change time in a mere 4 seconds. All Cincinnati FTV machines feature the latest digital A2100Di CNC control from Siemens. The powerful, user-friendly PC-based control provides faster cycle times and smoother machine motion by integrating a Windows 2000 operating system with a single processor Pentium III foundation. Cincinnati Machine is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of CNC machine tools, such as turning centers, vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers/cells, 5-axis machining centers, universal machining centers, profilers, routers and composite processing equipment. Additionally, Cincinnati PLUS-1 provides the most comprehensive package of service and support available in the industry today. Industries served include aerospace, heavy equipment, fluid power and automotive, as well as small job shops.
