New MAG Fadal 4020FX VMC Features Fadal GE Fanuc Control



Chatsworth, CA - MAG Fadal's value-priced FX series of 4-axis vertical machining centers has been completed by the introduction of the 4020FX, designed for a range of machining applications from complex die and mold work to parts production.

The new 4020FX features the industry-standard Fadal GE Fanuc 0i-MC Control with advanced software for programming, operation and troubleshooting. Optional AI Contour Control adds "look ahead" capability to optimize acceleration and deceleration of the cutting speed. The control also significantly reduces machining trajectory error.

The work envelope of the 4020FX is the largest of the series (which includes the 2216FX and 3016FX). X/Y/Z axes travel is 40" X 20" X 20" (1016mm X 508mm X 508mm). Design features include rigid box-way construction with integral flame-hardened ways, Steinmeyer ETA+ dual-mounted ballscrews virtually eliminate reversal error and provide increased stiffness. Maximum spindle speed is 8,000 RPM. Rapid traverse is 1,000 IPM (inches per minute).
