Milltronics Manufacturing Company Introduces VM30XP

IMTS 2004 o September 8 - 15 o Chicago, IL USA

Milltronics Manufacturing Company, in Waconia, Minnesota will unveil a whole new concept of machining center construction at IMTS 2004. The popular VM30, 50" x 30" machining center, will be on display as a newly designed premier model designated the VM30XP.

Keeping pace with the existing VM30 machining center that starts with a heavily ribbed, 20,000 lbs. cast iron frame, the new VM30XP will utilize roller type linear ways that provide 44% more rigidity than the more commonly used ball type ways used on other linear rail machines. The added advantage of increased rigidity stems from the increased amount of contact from the roller bearing to the rail surface compared to the rail contact provided from a spherical ball bearing. This roller bearing technology is only available on the highest priced machining centers manufactured throughout the world. Milltronics is bringing this technology to market in the United States at a price affordable to the general machining industry.

The added rigidity of roller type linear rails on the VM30XP has lent itself to the use of a 50 taper, 8000 RPM spindle designed around a two speed geared head that is capable of delivering 425 ft/lbs of torque from 50 - 400 RPM. Combined with 1500 ipm rapid traverse rates and a 32 pocket arm type automatic tool changer, this machine will add productivity to any application. This is one machine you want on your list of "must see" items at IMTS.

Deliveries of a 60" X axis travel version of the VM30XP will begin by the end of 2004.

Be sure to see the VM30XP at IMTS 2004, Booth A-8545.
