Brother's New TC-22A Machining Center Offers Greater Capacity; Uncompromised Efficiency

Schaumburg, IL (June 24, 2002) - The new TC-22A machining center from Brother is big in both capacity and efficiency.

Boasting extreme rigidity, the TC-22A accommodates parts and castings of up to 441 lbs. To ensure total rigidity, the column and base are designed from CAE analysis and DBB spindle construction. A true crossover machine, the 30 taper TC-22A has the same, and often an even greater capacity than 40 taper machines. Another increased capability feature of the TC-22A is its ATC. An optional total capacity of 27 tools is available.

Though offering improved machining capacity, the TC-22A retains the efficiency that has become associated with Brother. The TC-22A drills, taps and mills with spindle speeds up to 12,000 rpm and rapid traverse speeds of 2,205 ipm on all axes. Also enhancing productivity, a double arm ATC mechanism system keeps tool changes to 1.8 seconds.

The controller is designed by Brother to maximize productivity specifically on their machines. It is easy to use with G-code and Brother also includes their own G-code, such as non-stop tool change code. The Brother controller also features an original conversational system that reduces the time from programming to machining.

Available as an option with the TC-22A, a dual contact spindle and high pressure coolant (1,000 psi) further increase the machine's efficiency.

The TC-22A is one of three machining centers from Brother's new Technology Series of machines. To accommodate larger work envelopes, Brother offers the TC-S2A-O, featuring an extended X-axis on this machine.
