ipd Introduces New NetSight II Integrated Machine Vision Systems

Designed for quick and easy implementation on the factory floor, these robust, yet cost-effective, systems incorporate such performance capabilities as multiple camera support and numerous standard communications and I/O features

BILLERICA, MA (December 2, 2003) - ipd, the intelligent products division of Coreco Imaging, Inc., announces the release of its NetSight II integrated machine vision systems. Designed for rapid deployment in plant floor applications, these robust industrial vision systems offer a range of advanced performance capabilities in a compact (8" x 7" x 3"), cost-effective package.

"Non-real-time operating systems and delays caused by network traffic are two areas where both industrial PCs and smart cameras can become out of sync with the items on a production line, possibly rejecting good items and passing failed items," said Steve Geraghty, Director of ipd. "NetSight II systems were designed from the ground up to overcome these and other problems that end users face when they try to implement PC/frame grabber or smart camera solutions in a production environment."

The fully integrated NetSight systems combine a powerful processing engine with a high-performance camera interface, flexible software tools and industrial communications. NetSight II's unique architecture supports simultaneous image acquisition from multiple cameras, allowing the vision systems to be implemented in complex and/or high-speed applications.

NetSight II incorporates a variety of standard factory interfaces, including:

· Ethernet, USB, Firewire, parallel, serial and audio communications connections. NetSight II is also OPC compatible for open connectivity into the factory environment;

· Sixteen user-defined I/O (DSUB connector for easy wiring). NetSight II's advanced I/O, which can be used for PLC interfacing or inspection control with real-time determinism, functions independently of the operating system to deliver greater accuracy and inspection reliability;

· Status LEDs for "black-box" applications;

· 24 VDC power input.

NetSight II systems are supported by ipd's Sherlock "point and click" graphical software environment that simplifies the development and deployment of machine vision solutions. For integrators designing custom software interfaces, NetSight II provides an extensive library of machine vision and pattern-matching tools.

With three synchronous progressive scan analog inputs, a 400 Mbps Firewire port, Sherlock vision software and compatibility with the Windows® embedded XP operating system, NetSight II provides a powerful, integrated system that can be applied to a diverse range of industrial applications.

NetSight II integrated machine vision systems are available now. For more information about NetSight II and ipd's other product offerings, please visit the company's web site, www.goipd.com.
