New Three-Ton Machine Screw Actuator From Duff Norton Excels In Positive Mechanical Positioning Applications
Charlotte, NC - Duff Norton has been experiencing high demand for this key capacity for some time and is pleased to officially release the new actuator to industry. For applications requiring positive mechanical positioning the new three-ton actuator is the ideal solution.
The new three-ton capacity machine screw actuator has a standard 24.2 efficiency rating, can be driven at 2 horsepower maximum, and is available with Top Plate, Clevis End, or Threaded End mounts.
The actuator can be driven either by a manual crank or via gear motor, which is connected, to the horizontal worm shaft. Translating contact is made between the bronze worm gear and the turning worm shaft. The machined inner diameter of the worm gear makes sliding contact propelling the lifting screw back and forth.
Most Duff Norton machine screw actuator models with high worm gear ratios are self-locking and will hold heavy loads in position indefinitely without creep. With lifts up to 20 ft., our machine screw actuators come in many standard models, or can be custom designed for any application up to 250 tons.
